Designing the Experience
Leading Lines


The level uses leading lines to direct the player in the intended direction. From the player's starting position to the positioning of the walls, everything about the level is designed to urge the player forward. They can only get out by venturing further into the facility.
Enticing Lights

Lighting served various functions in the level, and all of them are rooted in catching the player's attention. Most of the time, light will guide the player toward their next goal. However, sometimes it can lead the player's attention away from a sneaky trap or enemy.
Realistic Props

Realistic props were used to lend the level some verisimilitude. The game takes place in a seedy laboratory, and the props help communicate the truth of the setting to the player. The random hospital equipment and barrels of unknown waste populate floors just below an office space. What kind of foul acts occur in a place like this?
